Discover Our Faith and Community
Welcome to Chapel
Chapel of the Cross of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod is located in St. Peters Missouri. We are grounded in the unchanging truth of the Bible and driven to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Whether you’re searching for a new church home, exploring the Christian faith, or seeking a community that helps you tackle real-life issues, we invite you to explore the beliefs and values that define us.
The Values That Drive Our Mission
As the family of God at Chapel of the Cross LCMS, our mission is clearly defined: Share the Gospel, Seek the Lost, Study God’s Word, and Strengthen One Another. These values guide our ministry and outreach.
Sharing the Gospel: Go and Make Disciples
Disciples have a great responsibility to share the good news with others. Following Jesus’ command in Matthew 28:19, “go and make disciples of all nations,” Chapel of the Cross exists to connect people to Jesus. We are dedicated to sharing our saving faith with our neighbors and community.
Seeking the Lost: Service and Sacrifice
Jesus’ ministry was marked by service and sacrifice, seeking out opportunities to help those in need. As His followers today, we believe that faith without deeds is dead (James 2:25b). We joyfully serve our community and address the needs around us as an expression of our thankfulness to God for our salvation.
Studying God’s Word and Strengthening One Another
God cares deeply about what happens in our day-to-day lives. At Chapel of the Cross, our ministry is designed to help you tackle real-life issues, situations, questions, and emotions that lead to a closer relationship with a real, living God. We encourage all members to engage in Bible study and ministry that strengthens their faith and provides meaningful fellowship.

The Beliefs that Ground Our Faith
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the true, inspired Word of God. It is the basis of all our teachings at Chapel.
God: The Holy Trinity
We believe in one God who exists in three persons (the Trinity)—Father, Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit. God the Father created all that exists. Jesus Christ redeemed humanity from sin through His death and resurrection. The Holy Spirit inspires us in our faith. All three persons of the Trinity are co-equal and co-eternal.
Sin and Forgiveness
Sin is every thought, word, and action that is contrary to the will of God for our lives that He lays out for us in the Bible. We regularly fall short of God’s will, but out of an abundance of love for His creation, God offers us complete forgiveness of our sins through the sacrifice of His one and only Son, Jesus.
Salvation
Our message of salvation is simple: “If you declare with your mouth ‘Jesus is Lord’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9). The work of Jesus on our behalf has reconciled us to God. It is by grace through faith that we are saved.
Baptism
We believe God comes to us in the sacraments. Baptism is offered to all ages.
Communion/Lord’s Supper
Following the words of Christ (Matthew 26, Mark 14, Luke 22, 1 Corinthians 11), we believe Jesus Christ is truly present in the bread and the wine. Through participation in this holy meal, God seals His promises for us: the forgiveness of sins, strength for this life, and the certain promise of eternal life.
If you or your child are not yet confirmed in the Lutheran faith, we welcome you to come forward to receive a blessing. Gluten-free wafers are also available.
